The free file-conversion sites, but on your own hardware

AGPL-3.0
Automation
What it does
Converts, compresses, OCRs, transcribes and strips metadata across images, video, audio, PDFs and documents — the work usually handed to CloudConvert, Smallpdf or Otter.ai — without the files leaving your network, through a UI, a REST API or pipelines. Breadth means a heavy install, so start with the handful of operations you actually use. An open upload endpoint on the internet will be found and used by others, so put authentication in front of it. AGPL-3.0.

SnapOtter FAQ
- Is SnapOtter free?
- Yes. It runs on your own machine, so there is no usage-based cost either.
- Do I need to install anything or write code to use SnapOtter?
- It needs the command line. If you are not comfortable typing commands, expect to get stuck during setup.
- Does SnapOtter work on a phone?
- No. It needs a computer.
- Can I use SnapOtter commercially?
- The licence is AGPL-3.0. Using it commercially is fine, but if you distribute something built on it you may be required to release that under the same licence. Keep it internal, or check before distributing.
