What we checked ourselves
Not copied from the project's own blurb. These are things we opened and verified, with the date.
- 23 Aug 2026We checked that the link to the project still resolves.
- 14 Aug 2026We read the licence text itself (LICENSE). No unusual restrictions were stated.
- 31 Jul 2026We read the project's own documentation and found no sign that development has stopped.

Only 18 of the 51 meet all of the conditions above.
Counted from our own checks: every tool we list is examined against the same criteria.
What it does
An editing pass for AI-assisted academic drafts: it removes "In recent years..." openers, deflates inflated phrasing, shortens sentences and tightens the link between a claim and its evidence, while leaving numbers, citations and the substance untouched. Calibrated against the authors' own accepted papers and funded proposals rather than generic blog-humanizer heuristics, with a layer for NSF and NIH proposal structure. Ships as a SKILL.md for Claude Code or Codex, not a standalone app. The authors state plainly that it is not built to defeat AI-use detection and does not lift your disclosure obligations.
