What it does
Applies your labels to free-text data at volume — support tickets, survey responses, anything that would otherwise mean a person tagging rows for a week — guided by a few examples of the taxonomy you want. Reports confidence per row, which is the feature that makes it safe to use: route the low-confidence cases to a human instead of trusting the batch. Text goes to your chosen provider, which matters for customer data. MIT.

autolabel FAQ
- Is autolabel free?
- autolabel itself is free, but it needs an API key for an external AI service. That service charges separately, though some have a free tier.
- Do I need to install anything or write code to use autolabel?
- It needs the command line. If you are not comfortable typing commands, expect to get stuck during setup.
- Does autolabel work on a phone?
- No. It needs a computer.
- Can I use autolabel commercially?
- The licence is MIT, which permits commercial use. Conditions such as keeping the copyright notice still apply, so read the licence text before shipping it inside something.
