Writing & notes
What it does
Instead of asking for polished daily entries, it takes fragments — a stray line, a photo, a voice note — and lets a multi-agent system file them into timeline cards, schedules, habits, people, places and a growing knowledge base. iOS and Android, local-first: entries and cards stay on the device and you bring your own model key, so prompts go from your phone straight to the provider you chose. That still means your private notes reach whichever AI company you pick, which is the choice worth making carefully. GPL-3.0.

memex FAQ
- Is memex free?
- memex itself is free, but it needs an API key for an external AI service. That service charges separately, though some have a free tier.
- Do I need to install anything or write code to use memex?
- You install it like a normal desktop app. No command line involved.
- Does memex work on a phone?
- Yes, it works on a phone.
- Can I use memex commercially?
- The licence is GPL-3.0. Using it commercially is fine, but if you distribute something built on it you may be required to release that under the same licence. Keep it internal, or check before distributing.
